Simon reaches 30 Years Service -

On the 19th July 2022, we joined together to celebrate Simon reaching 30 Years Service.

Simon first joined Secura in February 1988, but had a short period away during early 1992, his "sandwich" period. However, he soon realised that catering was not for him and on 19th July 1992, he returned to take up role which included estimating and ordering of raw material.

His first role in 1988 was on our Hot Foil presses, the same as for our other "30 year" employee Ian. Simon does recall that, although employed at Secura for 34 years, he cannot actually remember being officially offered a position. His first afternoon, we guess interview, spent with the companies other 2 staff at the time, "just looking at what they did", 5 O`clock came and there was a voice heard "see you in the morning......"   Simon assumed this meant him and so he returned, he has often wondered if the comment was actually directed at him! 

Having covered most machines and roles, the buck now stops with Simon, but he openly acknowledges that it is the other staff members who actually do the "hard work"!

Our 16 staff have on average 11 years service, we like to think this a reflection on the culture, based on the same family values as when both Simon and Ian first joined, which we have been allowed to continue and nurture.
