On the 1st of July Secura labels were pleased to host the feed station on the Ride Lichfield Bike Festival Sportive Rides.

The Festival, in its second year, saw over 200 riders attend 3 events over the weekend. Starting with a social ride on Friday evening, followed by the Lichfield Jolly on Saturday. This year saw over 45 riders of all ages and ability ride around 5 miles through Lichfield City Centre, finishing at Curborough Community Centre, where organising group, Lichfield Re:Cycle had laid on a bouncy castle, food and drink, musical entertainment and more. Sunday saw the Sportive riders tackle either a 60 or 100km ride, with Secura Labels hosting and sponsoring the Feed Station at around the half way points on each route.

Simon Miller, MD of Secura Labels and volunteer at the Re:Cycle project was largely responsible for planning the Sportive routes and said: “When planning the Sportive routes, the opportunity to use Secura Labels as the Feed Station seemed too good to pass by, riding a few Sportive events myself each year I knew that the Feed Station can make or break an event, judging by the feedback from riders, we seem to have got it just right!” It also gave Miller chance to show off Secura.

“I am proud of Secura labels and the team there, the chance to let a 130 plus people have a brief taste of our premises was great, and I found myself not only directing people to the loos and keeping the food topped up, but also explaining what we do and showing a couple of people around in case of the possibility of a new lead, now that would be the icing on the cake!”
